• You'd love to have a family portrait session that fully captures who you are, how you connect, and how much affection surfaces when all the members of your family are present within the camera frame.

We're happy to capture your family in our studio, complete with gorgeous light and minimal distractions, or in your comfy-cozy home full of familiar toys and routines. No matter where our session takes place, we'll delight in your delight. And we'll encourage you to pay attention to one another instead of the camera, because there's no 'add happy' button in Photoshop.

We don't care whether you're barefoot or wearing fuzzy slippers, and we won't be sending over a twenty-page list of suggestions about what to wear. (We can make you look beautiful in sweat pants if you love each other.) We just want to capture your family. Your habits, your quirks, and your love. Die-hard beach goers? World travelers? Animal lovers? Trekkies? We wanna see it. And when you view the images we've created together for the first time, we want the depth of love you feel for your family to grab you by the collar and bring tears to your eyes.

The video below provides a peek at how portrait sessions unfold. If you have questions or would like to schedule a portrait session, click on the 'Contact' link above or call 215-206-3689. Oh -- and thanks for stopping by, lovely!

P.S. That's Kristen up in the header -- Haunani is camera-shy.

  • The studio is closed through August 10th for summer vacation -- vive la France!

ON FILM.

I became a professional photographer three years ago, and sadly…*this* is my first roll of film.  I’m going backwards, learning the patience it takes to snap 12 frames and then wait for 10 days (yes, 10!  AGH!) to see my work.  It was *brutal*…but I’m in love.  This roll was taken on Inauguration Day, and I called it Hope.  (Who says you can’t name a roll of film?)

I’m thrilled with the way these images turned out, and had fun makin’ ‘em, too.  Abbie gets to eat purple cake for dinner, ’cause she did such an utterly magnificent job so utterly close to her bedtime.

GIVING IS AWESOME. AND ABBY IS, TOO.

It was my great pleasure to meet Carrie, Casey, and the unbelievably awesome Abby this Saturday.  They were the grand prize winners of my Giving is Awesome shoot and…they rocked it out.

Abby came into this world when her umbilical cord burst, leaving her without oxygen for over thirty minutes, and leaving every organ to fail, or come close to failure.  Carrie and Casey were told that worst case scenario, she would die — best case scenario, she’d be a vegetable for the rest of her days.

But Abby had other plans.  She’s alive, she’s far far *far* from being a vegetable, and she is one of the most spectacular creatures I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet.  All Moms *say* they have happy babies.  But Abby?  Abby lights up a room.

That last image is the epitome of this family — there’s love, there’s hope, there’s joy, and there’s Abby.

AH, SWEET PEA.

Ah, newborns.  The smell, the fuzzy hair, the tiny…tiny-ness of the under-a-week-old baby is second to nothing in the whole world.  In fact, it’s a lot like this:

Who can resist her wrinkly little back?

And those yawns?  Those yawns are KILLER.

Feel free to explode from cute overload now, I nearly did!

YUM & BUM

I heart my job.  Every last bit of it, from hugging babies to meeting Moms to making fabulous images to sharing them with you.  Luckily for me, Yum & Bum brought all of my favorites together with fabulous vegan cupcakes (that were yummy!  Seriously!) and we created the framework for a marvelous in-store display.  Yum & Bum is literally across the street from the loft, and features organic/natural/awesome products for your little one.  All of these were taken smack-dab in front of the freezer section and to the left of the Elmo organic crackers.  We all need a little challenge, right?

In theory, there’s a biiiiiig box right below this that has a video of all the images from yesterday in it.  If you can see it, good.  If you have my computer, or are having issues, you can’t.  So you can view it here.
