There are all sorts of surprises brewing.  Some good, some awful, some terrifying, some so incredibly freeing.  All of them require a bit of libation and some down time.

panic face [n.] the expression used by infants when their older sibling approaches; a survival technique of the species, rarely employed by the firstborn.

Hope has one freshly-manicured foot in the future already.  Hope sees possibility, hope is set atwitter by exposed brick and natural light.  Hope says I can afford the rent.  Hope has little wings, pitter-pattering steadily and waiting for me to believe.

I admit...I have no kids. Most photographers who photograph children talk about falling in love with their kiddos' little baby hands and little baby feet...I've only got cats.

I think I make babies awake.  Like, they can smell fun brewing and they just can't stand to sleep through one minute of their time with me.  This little munchkin, Essa, was wide awake and kicking the entire time we were together.

Isn't her mama gorgeous?

2 more joy/peace/wonder spots are gone...apparently, holiday portrait sessions in September are ideal!  Remember, it's 25 minutes of shooting with me, 15 holiday cards, and a customized proofing session for $100...on September 9th or 20th.  610.995.0850 to get your portrait on.

And, Lily's I-spy-daddy-yay-o-yay face!

As the rain finally cleared (like it didn't on the Fourth of July weekend), MattMatt and I had a bonfire with our friends this weekend.  If you've never tried a Smore with a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup in lieu of Hershey's chocolate...go set something on fire, grab a stick, and get to it.

First, though, there was frisbee...heh...

smoreblog6.jpgSometimes, Matt makes fun of the way I run. This is payback.

smoreblog7.jpgAnd, the bonfire...there are no smore pics because I was afraid of covering my camera in marshmallow...like my jeans.  ::sigh I am so not coordinated sigh::

And, this last one is so very MattMatt.  Quiet and calm and gentle and happy.  (Or at least, he makes me quiet and calm and gentle and happy...)

I only got a few shots of Lily...as we were transitioning from bathtime to water ice time (a little stroller expedition across town), she passed out.  And stayed out.

Believe it or not, Henry is 10.  And he runs around like he's a puppy, yipping and jumping and making people giggle.  This face kicked the behind of all the other faces he made...  ...and before I go, I just want to put it out there: should there be interest, I will be hosting Rockstar Sessions in any number of towns across the nation in the coming year.  Some candidates are New York, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, Portland, Austin, Savannah, Atlanta, and the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  Yes, people, I want to go on tour!
